Cherry Valley Marketplace is one of two brands owned by the A&E Supermarket Group. Cherry Valley and its sister chain, City Fresh Market, are primarily a collection of stores formerly affiliated with Associated Foods (now the Associated Supermarket Group). A&E split its stores off from Associated and gradually rebranded them to Cherry Valley and City Fresh from Associated, Pioneer, and Compare Foods. Today, many Cherry Valley and City Fresh stores are deluxe, some with higher-end offerings like expanded gourmet cheese selections, gelato bars, and sushi. Many are also open 24 hours. The stores are supplied in part by General Trading, but A&E also has its own brand of products under the Cherry Valley name.
