City Acres Market started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2013 as Urban Market, affiliated with Key Food. A dispute between partners resulted in the store leaving Key Food and rebranding as City Acres. Additional City Acres locations have since opened in Manhattan and Queens, although the original Brooklyn one has closed.
