Supermarket
Parent Company: Village Super Market
Cooperative/Supplier: Wakefern
An iconic New York City supermarket on the Upper West Side since 1937, Fairway declared bankruptcy in 2020. Other operators, including Amazon, Food Bazaar, and Village Super Market bid on the stores, but Village won the bid for four Manhattan stores plus one in Westchester County and the warehouse. For much of the chain's life, it was owned by the Glickberg family, and since 2020 New Jersey-based Village Super Market has owned their remaining four locations.
